Some of the finest course fishing lakes and Rivers  in Spain (If not the world,) are in easy access and form part of our local area.   Namely the River Jucar, Reservoir at Bellus,   Most of  these are packed with Carp, Barbel and a very large helping of Catfish.   You will definitely be spoilt for choice.  

Permits can be obtained in the local banks. 

Maybe you would prefare a spot of Sea Fishing. There are miles of beautiful coastline from which you can try your luck   You can also top up your tan in the process.   Of course if you want to enjoy the tranquility of a day out on a boat, there are trips from the local port of Denia, just a few clicks south of Gandia
